Visit Our Stores

When you shop at any of our Hope Chest Thrift Stores or donate your gently used items you are helping us help victims of domestic abuse. Hope Harbor depends on our thrift store sells to finance a portion of our operating expense. Clothing donated can also help victims and their children who are forced to flea with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Additionally, as former victims of abuse are ready to enter the work force, donated clothing can get them started with interview clothes and work appropriate clothing.

Help Us Spread the Word

We all know someone who might need the services at some point. Be ready to tell them how to get in touch. Please put our hotline and regular line phone number in your cell phone now while you are thinking about it. Invite us to speak to your organization (or your child’s organization).

Participate in Our Events

Hope Harbor Home is very fortunate to have the support of several of the area civic groups who sponsor annual events to benefit our cause:

Two events have become an annual tradition in fundraising:

  • Hope Harbor Home Women’s Club Championship Golf Tournament
  • GFWC Blooming for a Cause Charity Gala

If your church, school or civic group would like to sponsor an event to benefit Hope Harbor Home, please contact Exec. Director Karmen Smith at Hope Harbor at (910) 754-5726 or email Karmen.

Volunteer Your Time

in the stores: helping customers, intake of new items, merchandising

in the court house: we often need volunteers to accompany  clients in the court room, not as legal aid, simply as emotional support, an extra set of ears and a hand to hold. Their is especially a need for multilingual volunteers.  In an unfamiliar situation, a  little hand-holding goes a long way. The only requirement is a compassionate heart.

in the office: help with answering the phones, greeting visitors and clerical tasks
